This exploration has involved adding a third layer to my double printed images.
To achieve the third layer and in one instance a fourth layer, I have printed a selection of black and white onto transparencies.
I liked the extra layer a lot for four reasons:
· It created a new layer of complexity
· it reduced the specificity another level
· you could see how the new layer effected the double print and
· the shiny transparencies gave the photographs an unexpected gloss.
But they're very hard to photograph! So what I’ve done is photographed them opened like a book (showing the transparency on the left and the double-printed photograph on the right) and then closed showing the effect of the third layer.
This last one has two transparency layers.
