So far I’ve made collages and assemblages that are long and rectangular.
As noted in an earlier post I thought I’d try some different shapes inspired by the shape of letters and words. I’ve been playing with ‘laneway’ and ‘edge’ starting with the shapes below and then, in the case of edge I’ve extended the exploration.

I'm interested in experiment 6,10, 12 and 13 as they are like crossing fences, or two fences in the same space.
I've just been reading about China Miéville's 'The City and the City' a sci-fi about two cities that exist in the same space. As Alice Springs architect, Sue Duggdale, said to me in conversation, this is like Alice Springs where the Indigenous and non-Indigenous people live in the same space but it's like two towns.
As Michael Moorcock noted in his Guardian review:
Subtly, almost casually, Miéville constructs a metaphor for modern life in which our habits of "unseeing" allow us to ignore that which does not directly affect our familiar lives.
